Australian Fabric Designers
Audrey & Me 2017

Hello, and welcome. I am an Australian print and surface designer.  I create on-trend collections for bolt fabric for quilting and sewing craft, home decor and also commercial soft furnishing prints. I particularly love designing bright and vibrant nature prints, and most of my inspiration being Australian native flora & fauna.

I am proud to be releasing a series of Australian fabric collections for Kennard & Kennard Fabrics in  2018, featuring playful Australian birds and accompanying florals, eucalyptus blossoms and leaves. You can see the full ranges over on my blog page Australiana Fabric.

I also illustrate prints and patterns for paper, ceramics and other surfaces.

To create my prints I use ink, watercolour, gouache and digital mediums to create the artwork. I then scan my artwork onto the computer to create patterns and placement prints for all surface designs.

I have worked on multiple print design and surface design projects for 5-star Hotels including Seaworld Resort Gold Coast, M Docklands Hotel Melbourne, & Barossa Valley Novotel. I also design for commercial soft furnishings;  upholstery, cushions, bedding, carpet and rugs, plus hard surfaces like privacy screens, glass & wall surfaces. I have also worked in fashion – designing on-trend prints for global brands.

I studied surface design at the International School of Colour & Design, as well as Digital Fabric Design at The Fashion Design Studio Ultimo in Sydney.

My key areas of expertise are:

::  Strategic development and implementation of high end seasonal and on trend collections
:: Set Product/ Design Development, ensuring the collection is cohesive, on trend and in line with the clients customer profile.
:: Trend research & colour palette selection
:: Fabric selection & prototype sampling
:: Working with overseas factories to  maintain brand integrity and quality
:: Highlighting key market trends locally and internationally

I live in a tranquil waterside suburb of Sydney with my husband, three children and cat. I grew up and also spend much of my time in the World Heritage Blue Mountains of Australia. Beautiful Blackheath was my home for many years, and I visit regularly. Both locations provide me with a rich backdrop of creative inspiration.

In my spare time, you can find me at my craft group working on my patchwork, or pottering around in homewares shops collecting my next cute tea towel. My favourite colour is pink and I have a ridiculously huge stash of pretty fabric.
